How to split polygons apart???

I finally got stuck on my car model, in the pic it shows the door's as one big mesh, I need to cut along those circled lines and split the polys into their own parts. So I can make the cracks between the doors.

right click on the object
>click on face
>select the faces you want to make a sprate object
>goto the menu editpolygon > extract
