In Maya, +Y is normally up, I don't know 3dsMax but in AutoCAD +Z is up, I don't know if any package has +X as up (that would be really strange), but theres a possibility that such a package exist. Theres no packages that has up in a negative direction (at least that I know of), that may be because it would confuse a lot of people.
