This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Azkaban Prison

Well, I was doodling today and decided that i wanted to put down in pixels and pixols my interpetation of Azkaban Prison, The Dementor Gaurds and maybe.. Sirius Black Escaping.

I actually started this a few months ago, but the poly count was getting way too high for me to get the detail that i wanted and I didnt want to sit down in PS to generate displacement maps.

With my recent purchase of ZBrush i imported the low poly and finally got it all cleaned up. I think ill finish it now.

ok, I both LOVE and HATE ZBrush.. They are both strong words, but I can't think of anything else to explain it. after being used to the stability and precision of Maya, Zbrush feels kind of like an amature interface. Maybe im just spoiled, but for a program ....SO USEFULL.... I'd think it would have a better GUI.

All in all ZBrush is worth every penny at it's current price.

ps. the level of detail you can get to on ZBrush is incredible. Texturing and Displacement maps have never been better. just make sure to use Maya to set UV's if you intend on going back to maya.

I made the low poly in maya. I dont like ZSpheres.

The texturing is all zbrush as well as the fine detail around the lips and the pits in the skin. here is the low poly that will take my displacement map from zbrush.
