Default particles with geometry instances collision problem

I hav a quick question...

When using particles to instance geometry is it possible to have the collision occur on the surface of the geometry and not at the center where the particle is.

Short answer: no

Depending on the shape of your instanced objects, you might get away by offsetting the collision surface. A brute force approach would be to use rigid bodies instead...
