Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

skull...ple

I'm working on this skull on the personal learning edition at home. I created it using the birail tool, and I'm gonna work on connecting the faces now.

What's the birail tool? It looks like nurbs patches. Are you goint to convert to polygon to stich them and then go to subdivisions for smoothing? Anyway good start....

Hey man

I recently made a skull for the challenge thread, check it out if you want, might help out on the poly placement (that is if your going to convert to polys at a later date) and/or give you some ideas.

Cheers

I like your skull. I used the image planes to get the reference for my rails and profiles, so I don't think that I'll have too many problems so far as placement go. I really have to refine that mouth area, nasal cavity and... well... everything else!! lol haha!
