Default maya software license

Hello i have maya 8.0 an would like to sell software but i called autodesk and they said i can not change registration or license to new owner. Once bought and registered it can only be registered to first owner. Is there any way around this like buying new license or just changing to new owners name? please help as person really needs software from me. it is 8.0 student edition by the way. thank you
