Simple Maya Setting

Ive been having a look at some of the tutorials on maya and when people create a polygon cube for example, they have the option to drag out how wide and high its going to be in the surface.

However, when I go to create the cube, it just slaps one on the centre of the stage... without the option of draggin it wider or higher.

How can I enable this option?

Hope you can help....

Go to Create>Whatever Primitive and make sure Interactive Creation is checked. Personally, I find it quite annoying to have on, so I turned it off.
