I'm modelling an alien in Maya 8. I'm using a uv map and bump map done in photoshop for only part of it. I was wanting to texture the rest more simply with say a blinn. Is that possible? When I select a few faces and assign them to a blinn, it renders out completely black, but the uv map renders out just fine? Any thoughts? This is my first project and no-one I know has heard of CGI/3D etc so any help would be great!
