Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

problem deleting after nurbs>poly convert

im having trouble getting rid of my nurbs object after ive converted it to polygons. if i click on the nurbs object the poly version turns purple, which is as it was in the tutuorial, but when i delete the nurbs object it takes the poly object with it?

select the polygon object and delete history and then you should be able to delete the nurbs object.

If you select an object or component and a different object or component turns purple, that means that they're connected somehow (For example, revolving a curve and then selecting that curve will turn the surface purple, and you can move the curve to affect the surface) and unless you delete the node of their connection, deleting one will often delete the other or cause other problems.
