Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

yeah, first time i downloaded it, it didn't work, the file wasn't complete
so i downloaded it again and when it came to activating i was taken to the webpage and had to try a few times
clicking back and refreshing a bit
i entered my details and clicked next and it errored
then i clicked back and did it again and it worked
then i clicked the next button to get the activation key and it errored...
then i clicked back and it resent info and then i got the key user added image

maybe it worked for me almost the first time because there weren't as many people trying to activate it since most of the users were probably asleep at the time

Ok mastone.....I cant afford the Zbrush....is it better than mudbox??? Seeing I cant afford the $600 bucks (probably US) which is aroun $750 AUS what does it do for you?? Honest unbiased opinion (as I know you would).

The only thing I have at the moment to do ANY sculpting is Maya itself or Sculptris (free). I have NO idea how to use Sculptris...I have made a few mutant spheres and the odd landscape.

Anyway Zbrush or Mudbox??? huh? hmm? huh? LOL seriously though.

cheers bullet

They both pretty much do the same, though I feel Z has the edge on the feature front. Mud is easier to pick up as its closer to Maya. (and you can get it in autodesks entertainment pack with Maya, max, Motionbuilder, Toxic and matchmover and XSI (I think))

sounded good steve..the price was US (ups**t)! $1125 AUS....Zbrush has the edge. Still a lot of money.

Oh well I shall but dream.

that too is a free upgrade!

i've touched mudbox once, but not for long or seriously

zbrush is a lot different to normal apps, different concepts on the menu bar at the top
but i get the feeling if you really get into it it'll be super fast

there's a hotkey combination for EVERYTHING

The price is the stopper on both counts, unless I can get a previous version cheaper?

try Sculptris, I believe it's free ( pixologic recently bought it)

Then you can get to grips with sculpting.

I have mudbox and ZBrush and tbh I like Zbrush a lot better, especially because they are not affraid to do their own thing.
