help me my model is split down the middle!!!

I just started modeling a creachers head and i cut it in half so i could just work on one side and check it every once and a while with mirror geometry
but
every time i use mirror geometry it comes up looking like this...

Have the Merge With The Original checked and also the Connect Border Edges in your Polygon Mirror Options.

Oh yeah.. maybe try converting your pic to JPG would be nice.
