shading network problem

Hi, Please see both screen captures

https://louiseeaton.com/shade001.jpg
https://louiseeaton.com/shadeconnection.jpg

As you can see in Shade001.jpg, I have two things going on.

Firstly, I have a velvety shader on the bones mapped to the translucent node.

Then for an effect, I wanted the bones to appear from bottom to top in an animation. As you can see, it is working on the bones but the translucency is still showing throughout.

I cannot figure out how to fix this. If you check the second pic, that is my shading network.

Can someone please help!!

Thanks,
Cathleen
