Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

And the truth comes out, it was blazer looking at his ass!

I thought that the turntable was a little quick personally.

I didn't really notice that his ass was too low but will move it up and see if it looks better, also that was my fist turntable in zbrush so i will have to check the settings and see if i can make it slower.

Looks better... still there's something in the waist area that bothers me... can't really pin point it. Maybe it's too low.. or the legs too short...

Think you right withthe legas being too short.

Maybe check the proportions against the standard head models?

Well i used image planes and they correspond to the images, maybe the model in the images are not correct, also to me the legs appear too long. Also i have found a problem: when i export the lower rez mesh of my model to maya and move some vetecies, when i reexport the model into zbrush the changes are supposed to apprear on the whole divisions but when i move up the divisions the whole model becomes very clumpy. Does anyone know what the probblem is??

Finally i fixed the problem, i was because of some settings. Now i will draw on the model the wireframe for animation and since i am already in zbrush i might as well redo the topology here using the Zbrush Topology Tool , witch is faster than using the make live option in maya.

Here is the update before redoing the topology, you guys say that the legs are too short, i say that they are too long, so just to make everyone happy i will leave it like this. Anyway i exported the low rez model into maya and moved some vertecies to match the image planes.

Ok so here is the new topology, and because of the Xy ShrinkWrap i will copy all the detail from the old mesh to this new one. Also one more this should i extrude where the muscles are or should i leave it like this.

Thanks man, dont think i will do more to this model. Now i am sculpting in zbrush creating caracters directly from zbrush using zfere because i consider this a good exercise for learning gesture and sculpting the muscles, also check out youtube cauze i plan on adding more sculpting videos and who knows maybe i will make a full tutorial when i will have time.
