Yep. No fur/paintFx/non-sprite-particles/fluidFx/etc. Pretty much just geometry. user added image

you can make half-spheres that are composed of a minimal number of polys... like 10 or so max.

Thanks Mike... How's that Normal Mapping tut coming along?

I made the eyes and made individual fingers again, and I think the model is more or less done... Now for the uv's and texturing... user added image

Looking forward to it user added image

Poly count:
Sword: 244 tris
Char: 2653 tris

The char is made mostly out of quads, so i can probably shave a few tris of... I'll give it a go and post some shots when I get back from work...

Quick question on texturing:
When laying out UV's, if I have two completely identical areas, can I place the UV's on top of each other and save space on the texture?

Well, if my half the model is going to be mirrored and then merged, can't one just do this with the entire model? It just seems a little to easy to be true (although I know there's going to be a seam all the way down the middle...)

I havnt tried this yet...

if you try to grab half the Uv's, and flop them onto the other half (with the half texture) in thoery it should have no seem and look like a whole one

Well, first WIP shot of UV's... Obviously not done, and definetly not perfect! Lots of tweaking needed, but I'm off to bed for now...
