Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

dunno Mayaniac, as a home system would be kinda hard to top mine:

dual 6 core Opterons
16 GB DDR3 memory (8 GB per cpu)
dual GTS 450's
4 Acer 24" widescreens
3 80GB SSD's

I like to tinker user added image

Shit the bed!

I like to "tinker" too. And if I had a boat load of cash behind me, I could probably mop the floor with you and your system... user added image but as it stands I work at my local supermarket.

So, do you use your system purely for 3D/Graphic stuffs? If so, would love to see what you're kicking out!

P.S My monitors are bigger than yours! user added image but that's about all I've got!

Holy crap Beast!! that is just uber badarse...wow...that would mean instant divorce for me if I took that home...I can afford to go and buy one right now....but I couldnt afford the money for a new house to live in...let alone the operation to remove my foot from my eye socket!

You really have to buy your own market steve...and let the slaves do the work whilst you tinker!!!!!

Yeh I agree with steve...I would like to see the work you can churn out with that puppy!!

am/have been trying to get the hang of Maya for a while now
have been following several of the tuts but highly disappointed in the copycat of the tut movements.....
As I think I've got the basics of the tools, and as a cabinetmaker by trade
am gonna try to model some of the furniture I've built.......
maybe it'll get me the inspiration to finally get the hang of maya

As for the system, it's custom built by myself, and I didn't spend any more than some would for a good Mac ......... but I got a better PC user added image

copycat meaning I have the tut open on one screen with maya open 2 others
follow the tut move by move ........ that's not me, I get no satisfaction.
right now I need to concentrate on modeling and texturing, which I'm just getting started with......
as for cabinets, dunno, I think I'm good user added image
pieces have been published couple times in designer magazines
judge for yourself (turn your speakers down)

the 1st cabinet in the display is the one I'm going to try to model & texture first
(don't mean to hijack this thread)
