2008 / videocard issue

Anyone here happen to be using a
ATI Radeon x1950 xge 256 meg vid card with Ati's catalyst driver set?

Thats what my new rig has in it, and when i start to open maya, it gets a fatal error everytime at the splash screen,
PRetty sure its the video card, since the error log notes " atiollg.dll as the file thats giving a bad read and causing the error.
i know the drivers are the newest set ati has, just downloaded them last night
and, Autodesk doesnt have a quick fix for it...
Help?

roll back to your older drivers - updating straight away is not always the best option. I still use nvidia drivers from 2 years ago for my GC as maya slows right down with the updated drivers

(dont need new drivers I dont play games on my PC thats what the XBox and PS3 is for)
