modeling and texturing

ok.. trying to figure out a way to get around this. I wanna assign an image to an object, but when i start to cut, extrude, and move vertices.. the bitmap image moves also. Is there a way to move a vertice without moving the bitmap image assigned to the object??? I've tried projection and stencil.. can't figure a way around it. Any ideas please???

the reason why is because you are adding geoemtry to the object, thus adding UV texture coordinates. You'll only want to texture map an object after it's done modeled.
