Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

PBR 31

Haven't had time of Maya or SM recently, but decided it was time for me to have a play again today before i get to rusty. So here is my start on a PBR31 Mk2 patrol boat.

btw, i'll improve the lighting for next render.

Like the canvas? canopy in particular, perhaps consider to make it more "sunken" and softer at the edges, maybe you have, just hard to tell in this render...keep posting mate

People always ask that, but it's nothing more than a fairly standard GI_Joe; setup. Although i will add some more lights to give it some direction soon.

Just go to Highend3d.com (i think) and search for GI_Joe in the maya plug-ins section.

EDIT: - btw, that's some great texturing.

thanks for the GI. Joe information!

currently, i can't find it.. but is that a rendering mode..? like Mental Ray and Maya Software Render?

and can that be used for making animation also?

Thanks.

No it's just a script that sets up the lighting in your scene. You can then render with maya software or metalray. I just use maya software render.

what you do i take the script file and put it in your scritps directory (C:/Doc....My Documents/Maya/Scripts (I think)). Then take your lights file and put that in a folder on the "C" drive, this folder can be called anything aslong as it has no spaces. Then open the script file in notepad and change line 57 so that it points to "C:/"insert new folder name"/GIJoe.lights. The just open maya and type GI_Joe; in the command line.

oh, and if you don't want to keep typing GI_Joe; just type it in the command line without hitting enter and then middle mouse drag it to the shelf.
