headmodeling

Hey. I've worked on this black dude for about 3 hours and starting to do some textur work. This is my third character, and still using Kurt's technique from the Ninja tut.

Well, all is great, but the nose is a bit too wide, by my opinion. Great modeling and keep up the good work!

thx for the comments! although I don't agree with the nose being too wide, cuz I used a reference, where the guy actully has that wide a nose user added image

I've done some mild skin texturing and bumpmap, but I notice now, that the eye's need some work (not the eyeballs). which means that I have to redo the UV mapping.....and that.....sux.

Ok, what ever, if you say the nose is like that then its fine.

But I agree with mc-fleury, you need to learn about edgel loops. There was this great thing by Steven Stahlberg explaining edge loops and what they do and how they apply to a model... here it is!

nice! this will help alot. I've always thought the hardest part of modeling a human face is to get the lines to flow correctly, and this guide almost makes it look easy. thx user added image

been some time since I posted/worked.

But I made the hair out of poly for the first time (I usually use fur). And generelly tweaked the shape of the whole head alot. Reworked bump and textures, although they are not done.
