Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Breaking/fragmentation of meshes

What is the best method of fragmenting an object. For example, a glass breaking after being dropped on the floor. Or spaceship exploding.

Thanks,

Forlax.

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Blastcode is probably the best, theres a free trial of in if you google balastcode for maya.

If not you can use the "shatter" effects found in the dynamics menu set.

Cheers
