Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

QuadroFX1000

my quadro FX1000 is running a lot slower than it should, it struggles with a 15000 polygon scene which i think is just stupid for a £500 workstation card

my system specs:
asus a7n8x deluxe revision 2 (driver version 2.45)
athlon xp3200
quadrofx 1000 (driver version 44.71)
1.5gb DDR400 corsair low latency RAM (3 sticks of 512gb)
maxtor diamondmax plus9 SATA 8mb cache 120gb hard drive
antec trueblue 480watt PSU
audigy 2 platinum eX
creative 6.1 6700 speakers
windows 2000 SP4

i ran spec viewperk benchmark test and the results i get are lower than what they should be

spec viewperf 7.1 results:
3dsmax-02 Weighted Geometric Mean = 21.35
drv-09 Weighted Geometric Mean = 118.1
dx-08 Weighted Geometric Mean = 122.4
light-06 Weighted Geometric Mean = 27.59
proe-02 Weighted Geometric Mean = 32.10
ugs-03 Weighted Geometric Mean = 32.69

then i ran cinebench2003 and get these results:
**************************************************

Tester : Nem

Processor : AMD Athlon XP3200
MHz : 2.2ghz
Number of CPUs : 1
Operating System : Windows 2000 SP4

Graphics Card : QuadroFX1000
Resolution : <1600x1200>
Color Depth : <32bit>

**************************************************

Rendering (Single CPU): 272 CB-CPU
Rendering (Multiple CPU): --- CB-CPU

Shading (CINEMA 4D) : 308 CB-GFX
Shading (OpenGL Software Lighting) : 1348 CB-GFX
Shading (OpenGL Hardware Lighting) : 2557 CB-GFX

OpenGL Speedup: 8.31

**************************************************
**

they seem to be ok (right? i dont actually know much about benchmarking software)

and finally i ran specAPC for maya 5 and i get these:

graphics: 27.47
cpu: 1.92
I/O: 50.27
overall: 17.14

when on the site (www.specbench.org) it says that a quadroFX1000 card should be gettin:

graphics: 3.00
cpu: 2.28
I/O: 2.33
overall: 2.77

which means my computer is either above or below average, and im guessing below

how can i speed up the comp/graphics card? my main problem is the polygon limit in maya and XSI with the FX1000, i didnt think there was a poly limit, and if there was it shudnt be as low as 15000

btw, vsync was off when i performed these benchmark tests
