Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Texturing issues

I have run into a snag where I can't seem to manipulate a texture once applied to an object.

I select the faces to apply a planar mapping to but then i can not scale rotate or move the texture. Not even in UV Mapping Editor. I'm figuring perhaps i hit somehting that permits me from doing this. It was working at one point and now is not.

I tried restarting Maya, importing the object, separating the faces, duplicating the object, but othign is working thus far. I'm still investigating, but if someone has an idea of what this is I'd love some help.

Thanks.

When you apply a planar or any kind of UV map, you get that as an entry in your Channel Box as History. Select it and then click the Show Manipulator Tool and you can move the entire UV shell around.

In the UV Texture Editor, you should be able to move individual UV's around and such.

The manipulator tool shows. I can move it scale it and rotate it, but nothing happens. Same in the UW editor. So I think it must be something else.

Appreciate the help though. Anyone else have any ideas?
