Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Oct/Nov - NORM - lisa_gonzalez

Hey guys.

I've finally decided to enter a challenge, and I had a bit of an idea for this one. Not long left til the deadline though, so I'd better hurry up!

Sorry my sketch is pretty poor - I'm not very good at visualising my ideas on paper. I'm going to do a scene of just an electric chair in a bare cell, being lit (hopefully quite eerily) by shafts of light (moonlight??) coming in through the cell bars. I might have a pool of blood on the floor, with blood dripping off the chair, but I haven't decided on that yet. I thought I'd keep it very simple, but try to do it as effectively as I can - I think an electric chair is a pretty creepy subject!

Works pretty busy at the mo, so hopefully I'll be able to finish in time.......

Finally started some modelling, nothing too fancy. Here's the start of the chair:

An update of the chair. Still need to model the straps that hold you in. I'll prob texture it too.

Nice start! Those rays of light through the bars would be awesome if you use fog and what not... I am looking forward to seeing some more soon.
