Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

To start with i'm modelling all of the objects as seperate scenes and will bring them all together for the final scene. I'll concentrate on the lighting in that scene.

you can have each one as a different scene and then bring them together using references to each one and then when you update the original then the main scene will also update.

file>>create reference

that will bascially import the file but it's more or less read only. YOu need to read the docs a bit cause I'm not 100% on the ins and outs of it all

I've got to work on reducing the number of faces on the speakers. Each one has over 50,000 faces.

How do i merge several faces so they become one face because at over 50,000 per speaker it's killing my computer?
