Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

nurb editing

heya,
im modeling a woman atm and have decided to make the body out of a nurb, i saw a piece of work where a guy made a model out of a poly cylinder but cut it in half and modeld one side of the chest and mirrored it, i want to use the same method but i want to use nurbs, my question is how on gods great earth do u delete half of a nurb cylinder?

Detach the isoparms in front and back.

that leaves a side of the obect open, how do i close it up again?

if you're mirroring the object, you'd close it up when you attach the mirrored part.

Another way: Create a nurbs cylinder.
In the channel box go down to imputs > make nurbs cylinder1 (# may vary if more than 1 cyl is in scene) & change the end sweep to -180.
It can also be done in the create sphere options . . . Happy Modeling

If you do this, keep an eye on the number of vertical spans you have and decrease as needed.
