Good luck with the head mate LOL I know they arent easy! There are so many tricks to them. I know I have lots of trouble....I guess for me time is a problem..too much work to do. Just take your time mate....it will all be good Im sure. Judging by your body you have anatomy down well...so it shouldnt be too much for you.

Thanks dave.. thanks bullet, will post more updates this evening gonna make a start on the head this afternoon, want to texture it and hopefully animate it, but as with my last I have no experience with it really apart from what I read in books and see on tutorials I maye try to develop my own skin tone as a colour to add rather than texture the model what do you guys think ???

How are you going to asdd your own skin tone to it mate?? in Maya itself? Ive never done it...I use PS its really not too hard. Just start off with the light colours and work into the dark.

Grab Kurts tut on the character design...you will find it quite interesting. Then just apply what you learn to your model, he has a really good texture tut in the Spitfire Tutorial as well. You can really apply what he teaches to just about any model really...its just placement and layers.

@ bullet is kurt tutorial on here in regards to texture .....what i was gonna doi if I still have it a long time ago a came across a tutorial in maya to add a skin texture cannot remember the guys name though but im sure I saved it somewhere on either my home computer or my laptop I will have a look.

But anything that can point me in the right direction will help greatly user added image

yes they both are mate. One is the Spitfire tut...the other is called 'character design' both by Kurt. No I dont remember seeing the skin texture one mate?? If you find it let me know eh?

It would be a nice idea quote"my own skin tone as a colour" but like every thing in 3D there are no short cuts, It also depends on what quality you are looking for(game,cartoon or realistic).........dave

Starting working on the head yeaterday, just need to add ears and add detail to the neck...ideally tyhe look I want is more of a semi realistic look not cartoon but not real if you get my drift, hope to have the model complete either today or tommorow night then can concentrate on texture then rigging.......so much to read and watch .

The chin is a little big and the top eye lid, if you look in the mirror you will see a flap of skin that hangs down nearly covering the top eye lid, but all in all much better than your first model............dave:attn:

made a few refinements to my character now i think i am ready to think about creating a texture what would be the best way to go about this ???, in photoshop or in maya not sure were to start?
