Painting Hair/ Fur

I just recently modelled a human head, and I'd like to paint some hair onto him. No matter what part of the duplicated head I paint on,, the hair keeps popping back to the other side of the head only. Can someone give me a solution this problem?

I can only reccomend buying Joe Alters Shave and a Haircut plugin. It beat the **** out of Mayas own, IMHO..

and it cost about nothing.

www.joealter.com

- I hope this can be any help.
