Binding two loftet curves

Hi there.

I'm going straight to my case.

I'm making a half onion and I want to know if there is a way to connect two loftet surfaces together, like the red lines in the image.

I've tried merging the verticies, but then the onion's shells receive rounded edges and I want the edges to be sharp from a knife cut.

Is there a way to do it? I have emigrated from 3Ds max, and there I could just connect the verticies together one by one. Could somebody please help me achieve the same effect in Maya?

Thanks in advance.
