This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Well nevermind, i found out by myself " user added image

1) There is a dll.file that is to be "hacked" by a software, and then the image can be exported as a bmp file to photohop.

2) The image saved in photoshop must have the same pixel size AND be saved as a 16 bit bmp image (not 24bit).

3) Then import the bmp image back to mayastartupimage.xmp (if i remember correctly, you cant miss it).

And voila!

Forgive my blasphemical action here.

4.5 one? the maya logo rendered in some raytracing with some cd-style refractions ... quite gruesome to my point of view. I prefer the old tattoed guy.

Well, here's the how to....
(originally from this site: (under tutorials))

https://www.worldofmaya.com/index_2d.html

1) Download something (I really dont know what kind of software it is, I simply used it once) kalled "EXESCOPE", from somewhere on the net (do a search, I'm sure You'll find it)

2)Start EXESCOPE and open this dll: "MayaRes.dll"
(in the "bin" catalogue)

Klick on mayastartupimage.xpm:
RESORUCE--> BITMAP --> MAYASTARTUPIMAGE.XPM

3) Export image to a bmp image in a folder of your choice.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
No danger of corrupting the dll at this point.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
4) Open, say photoshop and design your pic in THE SAME pixel size as the exported/imported bmp
AND save the image as 16 bit image and not 24 bit.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Copy the dll, to keep a backup. Just in case.
-------------------------------------------------------------------The filenames of the exported bmp and the saved image in, say, photoshop, arent important.

5) Open the dll file again with EXESCOPE and klick your way to the "MAYASTARTUPIMAGE.XPM".

Klick this XPM file and klick IMPORT under file menu.

Pick your saved bmp image (16 bit AND in the same pixel size) and voila.

If your saved image isn't "right", you get an error. But it shouldn't be a problem i think.

If you somehow mess it up (I cant figure out how) then you have the backupped dll.
