Snap to Grid

Hi All,

Just working through the Speeder Tutorial from Jason Edwards as have seen a few things that he can do with the snap tool that i cannot.

He starts the tutorial using Maya 6.0.1 but then upgrades to 2008 in lesson 9.

At some points in the tuts he grabs an uneaven line of verts hits W then holds X to snap them to the center line of the grid.

If i do the same in 2009 the verts move to the center line but are still out of line (still in there uneaven positions although closer to the center line)

Not sure what going on here.

Also is there a way i can select a single vert and split that vert into 2 verts in 2009, cannot for the life of me find anything to do this.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

thanks Mithandra

Check the move tool settings. There should be a check box at the bottom called 'Keep Object Spacing' or something like that. Uncheck it and it should work fine.

When in doubt, delete history and freeze transformations.
