Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Question on a particular tutorial...

Hey, I found this tutorial on the internet. Its a how to create the Matrix Logo Effect. The one im using is at this address:
https://www.highend3d.com/maya/tutorials/harley1/

I got through most of it okay, but I had a couple questions where I got stuck.

Question: Right underneath the poloygons part it says

"now select all the polygon letters and Center pivot, translate to abs(0,0,0), then freezetransform. Then hide all of them."

I selected them, Pivot, and how do I translate to abs(0,0,0)? I dont understand what they mean, and tried searching help files and stuff. nothing. Anyways, thanks!

I would assume that this means:

(1) Select all the polygon letters
(2) Center the pivot (modify->center pivot)
(3) In the channel box set the each of the X, Y, and Z axis translations to 0.
(4) Freeze the transform (modify->Freeze Transform)

Hope that helps.

That'll do donkey... that'll do...

You need to move your object to the center of the world 0,0,0 at the origin.
