New Free Tutorial

Do you want to learn how to bring a character to life on paper? This tutorial will show you the techniques involved in creating a character design. They include fast sketching to get your ideas down on paper and then developing that sketch into a more refined drawing using an overlaysheet to clean it up.

After we have a clean pencil drawing you will ink your creation for some color work. Then in Photoshop you will learn how to use layers effectively, as well as blending and various other tools to complete a finished character design.

Great tutorial on the character design aspect of 3d work. Would you be able to consider doing a follow-up tutorial with regards to turning the drawing into a workable model in Maya ready for animation, etc. Cheers guys and keep up the great work.

Hey very nice tutorial you've put together, I learned a lot like everybody else who's posted above me.

It would be great if you could do some more simiular tutorials in the future, on character designs / drawing - techniques, tips and tricks, just some stuff to help me on the way. I'm a youngster and I've recently gotten into this kind of stuff. I've tried using Maya a bit, the PLE version that is, and I really enjoyed it, but before I get into that I really wanna learn how to draw better. So I can have an idea what to model and what I want it to look like. Any help with this would be greatly appriciated - Even just a URL to a site which can help me out would be nice.

Regards
