Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

BMW M Coupe

Hey all. I've recently made the switch to Maya. Previously I've been working in Zmodeller, a free poly-modelling program. I think it was good to start in that program, though, cuz it was free and taught me alot about what 3D is all about. I've made a couple cars in Zmod already, but here's my first attempt in Maya. This will remain a poly model cuz it's going in a game, and I'm trying to keep a reasonably low poly count (with interior/wheels, i'm hoping for around 10K).
here's after about 1.5 hours I'd say. all the pics will be flat-shaded until i finish the exterior, cuz i don't feel like learning normals all over again just yet.

finally finished up another project, so now i've got a bit more time to work on this one. I've worked on the rear fender area, and it's kind of a tricky part of the car, so i'm taking my time and thinking it through. Here's what i've done to that area so far.

wow it's looking real nice, i'm working on a car (porche) as well but not going as well as yours though, quick question how do you post a wire frame shot, and also how do you post the multipy image in one shot.

to take the wire shots, i used a screen capture program called ScreenPrint32 v3. you can grab that over at download.com, and i'm pretty sure it's freeware, and works really well as far as i'm concerned. just don't use the JPG or GIF copressors that come with it (horrible stuff), save the files as BMP and then convert to other formats in PSP or PS.
the multiple shots in one image is just done in PaintShop Pro, cut & paste kinda stuff.
thanks for the complimentuser added image

glad you like it, but, i think you've got the wrong ideas there.
Racer is a free sim being coded by one person. He has made it extremely easy & flexible to get the 3D models in-game, and relies entirely on the community to make cars.
anybody can make a car for Racer, kinda like the whole Need For Speed 4 & MidtownMadness2 communities, it's all for free and free for all.
the MR2 you speak of was made by Tor Arne. (website: https://home.c2i.net/ahustvedt/)
i've released 2 cars for Racer so far, a Ferrari Enzo and Ferrari 308QV.
maybe i'll rephrase my sig....(which i just diduser added image )
