July/Aug - Noob - gohan1842

I would go norm for vlad but this is my first lighting contest. I'm not starting anything until I get some ideas and comments on some concepts. So I had this in mind.

Time: Night
Place: Back alley
Action: Hand sticking a weapon at you(the camera), out of the shadows which I think will create fear.

I need help with something for loathing.

Now that's what I was thinking. But if it's not really along the lines of the judging areas, let me know what isn't right. Or if somebody has a better idea then please open up.

I was thinking something along more of these lines. Just to get the idea out. Once again if somebody has any ideas for any different scenes throw them at me so I can get on a good solid start.

You could include a little lighting to show the face of the assailant...give him a look of real 'loathing' for whatever he's got the gun pointed at...dont even have to show the whole face...just a glimps of an eye, partial mouth...just enough to get the point across the he's disgusted with the victim.....hitman/target....or tables turned and target on hitman...etc

Good idea. If I can manage a good face I'll try that. I'm still thinking of other ideas for a "strong" atmosphere and mood.

Small update. The lighting right now is to show what's in the scene.

Closeup of the items because the distance view doesn't show the detail as well.

You might consider making the bump a bit more subtle.

Ok. I had this idea so I'll just stick with it. I came up with it in bed and it sounded pretty good to me. Everyone fears the electric chair and hates to die.

What I mean is the concept is already done as in movies.

Why not come up with your very own idea, one that is not like others. And I know it can be hard to come up with a good new idea now days, but I think it would give your wip awe, as in what will your scene characters look like, and not one that we already know.
