unique UV and mirror problem

hi there,

i've struck a problem

for some reason my characters fingers on the left side have moved from the bind pose (beats me how), and i am at the final stage of setting my character up (i've setup the uv's last because i had a deadline to have him finished for my course, and i prefered to have him rigged rather than not if i ran out of time)

see image (right click on image and open in new window to see larger image)

user added image

problem is to rectify this i'll need to copy the uv's from the left side over to the right side then delete the left side faces, then mirror the right faces back onto the left (with the uv co-ordinates intact)

can this be done and hopefully that makes sense?

thanks in advance

Yourz Trooly,
