Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Now i have made a boat, and asigned the Make boat node to it. The boat no floads on the wave.
But if you look in the boat you can see the water. As if it goes treu the boat.

Hey guys how is life in the 3d world,

I have a scene with a oceanplane as you can see below. But if you look at the horizon it is not a straight line as in real life.

My question is if there is a way how is can get that a traight line with out hardly effecting the waves.

Thanks

Hello,

Nice Ocean! How did you do the lighting and the reflection on the Ocean. Which renderer did you use (Maya Software/ Mental Ray).
I also wanted reflections on the ocean, but I don't know how...

Many thanks,

al

if you have a compositing program like after effects, you can make multiple layers. have the bottom layer be the waves like you showed. then make another layer, of only the sky. you can cut the sky out in photoshop. if you extend the sky lower and give it a flat bottom, then place it over the ocean, it will appear as if the waves are straight in the distance, when really it's only because the sky layer above it is hiding the tops of the waves.

i hope that makes sense. otherwise if you want to solve the problem in maya, you got me.

Thanks

Thanks Alexkemp,

It has been fighting with atributes but i finaly look a bit like the picturen in my head.
I used a directional light on the ocean and adjusted the glow and color of the light.
In the Ocean shader atributes i put on the special effect glow.
I used the Maya Software render( i am a newbie, i dont know the differents hahaha), but i will try the mental ray to.

I hope this is the awnser you want, if you want to know more. I am here to help.
