A simple answer for a simple problem

I've just used the insert loop tool to add a window to a wall. I selected the middle face on both sides and deleted it. Now I have the problem that there is a space between the two sides of the wall. What would be the easiest way to fill the gap around the face I've deleted?

use the append to polygon tool. you then just have to click on the opposite edges and it will fill it in for you
