Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Starving Artist's WiP Thread

Steampunk

I'm freehand modeling a steampunk, he's intended to be half organic and half mechanic. This is what I've come up with so far, critiques are a must.

It is hard to critic something that cannot be seen. It is Like a black foot, at night, against a black felt background, and wearing sunglasses!

You might want to select the camera attributes, go to the environment tab and change the background color to something other the black or maybe add some lights into the scene.
