Face problems

i wonder if anyone can help me im currently doing the dragon tutorial its turning out ok i think but the geomatry is a total mess is there anyway u can reduce the number of faces to try and clean it up a bit , it occures after poly>subD conversion each converstion thats done the more faces that get added if anyone could help me out with this would be great thanks

If the mesh get's more dense when you convert from sub-d's back to polys, it's probably those settings. I can't remember what they should be, but Kurt mentions it in all of his tutorials that I've seen, so he probably also does it in this one.

Modify> convert> subdiv to poly> option box> make sure you have vertices clicked on this will stop the mesh from going high once you convert back to a poly.
