Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

rigging controls--use constraint vs. use connection editor?

Have watched some rigging tutorials where a simple FK control (e.g. joint1_CTRL which is a NURBS circle or whatever) for a joint is implemented by placing the control over the joint and then using connection editor to create relationship between control and joint rotation axis. ( joint1.rotateX = joint1_CTRL.rotateX ...rotateY... etc... ). Was wondering if it would also be OK, and perhaps simpler, rather than using connection editor expression, to just create a parent constraint (or perhaps orient constraint) between joint and control?? (is there a difference between connection through editor and using constraint???) This would be for FK controls and even some IK controls? Does this violate any rules?

Thanks in advance!
