My first project

I am following the first tutorial in Introducing Maya5, 3D for Beginners.

This will be a 10 second animation when finished.

So far, I have the sun, planets and moons for some planets. The maya file has the planet rotation done and 3 of them are orbiting the sun so far.
This is a simple jpg of the static scene in frame 1.

but of course. I am working on the individual planet/moon orbits and I'll post again. Then I'll start working on the background, probably in Bryce and import it.

I have finished the whole sequence, but haven't bothered to render out a quicktime yet.
Also, it's flat, all motion using the Y axis only.

Gotta start somewhere.

Next I want to learn to work in multiple axis so the planets can revolve in true 3D.
