welding vertex?

Has any one ever heard of welding vertex to keep the textures on a model in Maya?

Not sure what you mean, persay. But you can Merge Vertices.

On a few game sites I asked a question on how to export some textures on my models into the game and some one responded that I need to weld the vertex to get the textures to stay..?

Yes, merge vertices is the Maya equivalent of the Max Weld Vertices command.

Weld vertices is also in Lightwave.

Its just Move/Snap to vertice. (w then v)
