This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
Have you tried reading the sample chapter at sybex' site? I thumbed through the book at B&N and it seemed like a nice read....a bit pricey though...better than some of the other Alias' books.
