Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

May/June - N0oB - Total Rookie

Hello everybody, I'm a N0oB and here's the lobark idea

Ingredients:attn:

-1 shark ( in this case, I am going to create a polygonal shark, whitout converting it into a Sub-D's surface, because I'm really angry with them).
-all lobster parts that I could insert on a shark.

I have no scanner, so I will post a message here telling how my work's going.

Well...

My creature isn't goin' very well, but i think it's good enough to put it here.
Creating the shark was the hardest thing to do. user added image I tried to model it directly as a Nurbs Surface, but soon I realized that Polys were the best way to model ( for me ). That's just because I'm not good with Curves.
Returning to the project, I'm having problems here. I don't know how to put an image of the shark here, because I'm just a:

Well, people...

I think that my creature is going well...
I've already made the initial shape of the lobster shell and put it on the shark. But the problem is: the Claws.
What should I do? I am now thinking about a way.
Should I create half of a poly sphere, grab vertex and move them to match the shape or create curves and loft them all?
If someone has a good idea, tell me. Please, because I am a:

My little monster needs a name. Does anyone owns a good idea for my creature?
Oh, don't be scared. It is just a ten-minute modeling that I'm going to improve. I am goin' to create claws and legs later.
Sorry, but I don't know where to start. Does anyone have suggestions?

Finnally the image came!!!!!!

Now, open for any suggestions. Don'tworry about the bad-looking. I know that now it's real crap but I'll improve everything later.

Ok, time for it...

Here's a recent update that I made today. Really, I wasn't motivated enough to do much things, so I only added right legs and refined some little details.

One thing is right:

We all start somewhere user added image, so dont worry about being "n00bish" and new to Maya and/or 3D.

I like your model and I hope I'm not offending but it looks like a toon concept.
