How to multiply a texture on an object

Hi,

I have absolutely no idea how to achieve my goal. I have a model of a car seat, I'm trying to apply a texture to a face of the seat. I assign new material as Lambert, in the colour map I choose file and add my texture picture. When I render the image it stretches the texture and makes a mess of it. How do I make it so that the texture is repeated over the face of the object? I would like it to be spread equally over the faces of my object but it keeps stretching it.

You need to uv map that section of the seat. Take a uv snapshot, go into photoshop, use that uv snapshot and your texture to make one that will fit. There are LOTS of videos of doing uv's on youtube.
