Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

I am currently working on my Video Portfolio. I need a place to store it, about 50mb. I need it free or REALY cheap. Where can I get that?

Thanks.

Wow. 50 megs huh?

Is this space you need JUST for storage?

Or will folks be downloading it from there as well?

If it's just for storage, you could burn it to a cd, but if you are looking for an online solution, I did a search for "ftp space" on Yahoo, and here are the results:

https://search.yahoo.com/bin/search?p=ftp+space

Good luck!

Then you will need a server that offers more than 50 megs of space, as well as TONS of bandwidth. (i.e. transfer)

Look at it this way:

My RAGECGI.COM server allows me 35 gigs of bandwidth usage per month.

That means that my visitors could download a 50 meg movie 700 times in that month. (or 23.33... times a day)

This does NOT include the trafic from gallery images, gui images, code, etc.

Currently in the us, I pay 30 bucks a month for that.

So basicly, if you think your users will wait to download a 50 meg reel, which they probably won't unless it's true-streaming, then that's what you should be looking for.

Try https://www.hostsearch.com for a good deal.

OR, maybe Kevin knows of a better deal somewhere...

Good luck!

You're probably not going to get what you want for free. I think the biggest storage option at no cost I've seen was for 20 megs or so. But that was a while ago.

If it's for a video portfolio, and you really need that amount of space, save up and take the plunge...

It will be worth it in the long run.

I say look around, you can find a lot of webhosting for cheap. Especially if its only going to be used for just your reel.

Price might go up if you need more bandwidth and storage or other databasing and more advanced stuff.

But if your using just basic HTML, it should be fairly cheap.

I have previously been searching for websites and these are what I found. All are under $10 US per month. And capable of supplying your needs (Bandwidth/Storage).

Not free either, but Yahoo Web Hosting will give you 50 MB for $11.95 a month.
