Maya's rendering system

Are there any rendering systems for maya that are like plug ins to enhance the rendering? I know in 3d smax has Brazil and Final render that create beautiful global illumination scenes. Anything for Maya?

U can check out what im talking about at:

well you can use Entropy but then you have to have Mayaman (AnimalLogic ) to be the connector between Entropy and Maya.

But also be advised that with the new Maya 4.5 some render may not work ! user added image

Virtual light is very cool and very free! It compares to Mental Ray(not as strong) but its simple to use and its FREE!! The biggest downfall.....it only works with Maya 4.0. all the 4.5 users have to wait.
