Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

I can't see the handles with the arrows in Maya

Ok guys,

Here is the prob. I can't see the arrows of the manipulators (scale, rotate, move) in all 4 views. I can only see them in 1 of the 4 views.
I already tried the + and - keys but that only scale or shrink the handles. And it is definately not a video driver issue.
Well, you can see from the pic for yourself.
Let me know of some solutions. Thanks in advance.

Two possible reasons for this:

1. It happened to me once when I changed my display settings from 32bit to 16.
2. If the above doesn't help then it could be your graphics card.

Maya doesn't like ATI

Sigh. I think I have a ATI video card afterall. So that is why I can't render paint effects. What is the cheapest decent video card out there that is compatable with Maya?
Thanks in advance.

The cheapest card that I think will work is the Geforce 5200FX, but don't take my word for it. It might be worth while doing a search on this forum first before spending the $$

Cheapest card would probably be a GeForce 4 TI4200 with the soft quadro patch applied to it. I use that and maya runs perfect.

Thanks guys. I already reduce the resolution to 16, but it didn't work either. And someone said my card maybe too old. So I guess I'll invest $100 or something. Thanks again.

Lower the resolution not the bit depth. Try something 1152x864. For some reason Maya doesn't seem to like really high resolutions.

I happend to once, and it got fixed by reisnstalling maya (but I had to delete maya folder under c://documents and settings/...
if it will bother you that much, you can try this.
Oh, and that happend after I had to restart my comp, while maya was still running (and in that keys maya always gets funky).
