not really...

actually, this hasnt been answered at all...

1st. my geometry is too complicated to simply apply a uv map of the mesh to the surface
2nd. none of the links to the plug-ins were accurate and i couldnt find any others on highend3d.com
3rd. i dont want just the wireframe, i want the wireframe on the shaded model.
4th. i dont have maya 5

so, if anyone could help me out i would much obliged!!!
cheers,
spaz.

You can do a playblast,window>playblast >options
and save the movie.
just set the shading options how you want.
shading>shade options> wireframe on shaded.
Show or hide whatever Ik's clusters etc.
If you render 3 or 4 times larger than you want
the final movie, and shrink it down in post.
the wire will look crisp and clear.

I like it better than doing a hardware render.

I prefer vector rendering, as that renders the wireframe nicely.

thansk joe...
somehow my playblaster is rooted, it only renders the first 30 frames and fills the rest of the movie with the that last frame.
is it just me???

hmm, check your options to make sure the playback is correct. Otherwise, I dunno.
