Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Low Poly Machine Thingy...

Hey all. Haven't posted anyhting in like forever, so I put this together in a few hours.

292 faces - probably could take it down further by reducing the faces on the tubes, but oh well, it was just for fun. user added image

Nice job. user added image:tup: The cylinder might be a little too dense. You could easily lower it and put some of that geometry back into use for stuff like the computer screen or something.

love the detail the texture gives it. I've always been a big fan of low-poly models. They seem to be under-appreciated sometimes unfortunately though.

Keep up the good work.

maybe you could use a few of thoughs extra faces not for the computer screen part but above it for what ever looks like it wants to be comeing off the front of the brown part. Bump map isn't working really good there for that. Could use to be physicly moved out..

Thanks guys.

Yeah, I could prolly use the extra faces for the thing on the front. There's no bump on that particular part. In fact, the only bump there is is the dividing lines between the panels. user added image

But hey, that's why we post things in the WIP section. To get feedback and perhaps see things that we can't see ourselvs but others can.

Thanks again. user added image
